ROMAN II is the road asset management software system used by the overwhelming majority of Western Australian Local Governments. It replaces the existing ROMAN I which has become difficult to maintain. For a list of participating Local Governments click here.
The project has been initiated by the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) with the support of Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (IPWEA) and stakeholders such as ROMAN users from a number of Local Governments, the Local Government Managers Association and the Department of Local Government and Regional Development.
The project is being delivered by ARRB Group under contract to WALGA. ARRB Group is supported by two subcontractors for software supply - RAMM Software Ltd. and Deighton Associates Ltd.
WALGA is being supported by Local Government user representatives, IPWEA Australia, Main Roads Western Australia, Opus International Consultants (PCA) Ltd. and Cardno Pty. Ltd.

Western Australia is unique within Australia in having this major, consistent source of road data to use in negotiations by Local Government with the state and federal governments.
